Summary. This article introduces a hotfix that improves the interoperability between the BranchCache feature and the Offline Files feature in Windows 7 and in Windows Server 2008 R2. Currently, the BranchCache feature uses the WTSQueryUserToken function to maintain the token cache for users who log on in a local branch office environment.

Symptoms. Using the setup wizard to upgrade an Exchange Server to a newer Cumulative Update causes an Exchange server to be marked offline in Exchange Active Monitoring during prerequisite analysis and prerequisite installation.

Platform. Not Applicable. Fixes a Windows Server 2008 issue in which a cluster disk resource that depends on another cluster disk resource remains offline. This issue occurs when the Cluster service tries to restart the resources after they enter a failed state.

The issue occurs because SMB2 does not recognize the FILE_ATTRIBUTE_OFFLINE attribute. When the request expiration timer expires before the tape is loaded, the I/O operation times out. Resolution. To resolve the issue, apply the hotfix on the SMB server. After you apply the hotfix, the I/O operations are processed asynchronously.

Cause. The issue occurs because SMB3 does not recognize the FILE_ATTRIBUTE_OFFLINE attribute. When the request expiration timer expires before the tape is loaded, the I/O operation times out. Resolution. This hotfix is also available at Microsoft Update Catalog. To resolve the issue, apply the hotfix on the SMB server.

Fixes an issue in which a certificate that has multiple chains cannot be validated in Windows Server 2008 or in Windows Vista. This issue occurs when one chain has a revoked certificate.
